New Webinar: Radio on Alexa. Stats, Case Studies and Best Practices

XAPP has helped launch over 800 Amazon Alexa radio skills over the past 12 months. These launches range from big radio groups like Cumulus and Scripps to regional groups and single stations like Radio Dubuque and The Journey. On May 1st, XAPP will hold our first webinar discussing what we learned launching 800 radio stations on Alexa.

XAPPmedia’s Alexa Skill for KXEG-AM is a First For Christian Radio

When KXEG-AM (1280 The Trumpet) launched its “1280 – The Trumpet” Alexa skill, it became the first Christian radio outlet to do so, Radio Online reports. KXEG partnered with XAPPmedia to develop the skill to give Amazon Echo owners access to the station its lineup of Christian programming, regardless of location.

Federated Media’s B100 Taps XAPPmedia to Create First Radio Skill for Amazon Alexa

B100 is the first radio station to launch an Amazon Alexa Skill that includes live stream, on-demand and podcast content. It also uses Amazon’s AudioPlayer interface and the content Scan Feature developed by XAPPmedia to deliver an interactive voice experience for listeners.

Federated Media recently hired XAPPmedia to develop a custom Alexa skill for its country “B100” WBYT South Bend radio station to give listeners access to its audio content through their Alexa-enabled devices.

Podcasters Take Note: Amazon Alexa is an Audio-Driven platform with Millions of Users, Time to Get Moving

Podcasting is an audio media. Amazon Alexa and its Echo devices use voice for interaction, but are designed to consume audio media. By our count, there are fewer than 10 podcasters on Alexa as of September 2016 and half of those are either AOL or NPR affiliated properties.
